Jean Jullien
I stumbled upon Jean Jullien, a French Graphic Designer who is based in London. Graduated from CSM in 2008 and RCA in 2010. He works closely with his brother, the musician Niwouinwouin. Both they create moving image pieces.
http://jeanjullien.com/about.html I really enjoyed this introduction to himself, it is very quick, but very constructive, althought playfull. The visual language is very strong and coherent.
Here is some of work, which I think is very simple yet sophisticated, sometimes childish. Reminds me of 1968 French revolution posters. I really like the fact he works with other materials rather than just drawing or computer. Here is his website.

Ian Francis
I stumbled across this Ian francis, an Illustrator-Fine Artist from Bristol. Born 1979, he did his BA Illustration at the University of West England.
I can't say I love his work, it seems nice to me here and there. However, his ability to combine paint and collage and abstraction deserves attention. Here are some words from his interview in 2008:

His work concentrates on the particulars of modern experiences — things like television, world events, celebrities, and day-to-day living. He held his first US solo show at BLK/MRKT in 2007.
Describe your process of creating a new piece.I spend a lot of time watching TV/films, reading books and looking around the internet... I save loads of photos I find interesting from all kinds of different places. I then flick through them, and try to think about how ideas link together, and mock up roughs in photoshop. I like combining different elements of photos of people with abstract sections of old paintings I've done. Once I've got an idea of what I want to do, I try and figure out how to paint it... sometimes the final piece looks a lot like the rough, sometimes it changes drastically while I'm painting it. When I'm painting, I just switch back and forth between paint, drawing, collage or anything lying around.

The only thing I would like to mention is that in my opinion, this work would work better if it wasn't painted over a canvas, but paper. And it'd definitely fit with some text to fill hose huge empty areas. But maybe it's just the Graphic Designer inside me speaking.
